United by the love of Christ, our leadership team is dedicated to serving God and His people. Each leader is committed to guiding, teaching, and serving our church family with humility, faith, and compassion as we grow together in God’s grace.

Dr. H.M. Porter and Tammy Porter

Senior Pastor

For nearly thirty years, Pastor Roe Porter has been faithfully teaching, encouraging, and equipping the fellowship of Savannah Baptist Temple. He is deeply committed to his calling—to instruct and shepherd God’s family through the teaching of His Word. In each service, he expounds the Scriptures verse by verse, believing that the most effective way to grow believers, make disciples, and encourage others is by presenting the Bible in a clear, relevant, and practical way. Above all, he teaches with love and compassion, ensuring that biblical truths are both understood and applied in daily life.

Pastor Roe has been happily married to his wife, Tammy, for over forty years. Together, they are blessed with two daughters and two grandchildren.

Tammy has a heart for ministry, serving in music, playing the keyboard for the church and praise team, and working closely with children and young people. She has stood faithfully beside our pastor, encouraging and supporting him in his calling, all for the honor and glory of the Lord.

Gary & Linda Larrimore

Media Specialist and Worship Leader

Gary and Linda Larrimore joined our ministry team five years ago, bringing with them a deep love for Christ and His Church. With a lifetime of ministry experience, they have enriched Savannah Baptist Temple through their dedication and service.

Their ministry includes leading corporate worship, teaching the Bible, and serving the homeless. Gary serves as our media specialist, ensuring excellence in our church’s media and technology, while Linda directs our weekly corporate worship, guiding us in praise and worship.

Pedro Ortiz

Hispanic Ministry Leader/ Prayer Leader

Born in Puerto Rico in 1968, Pedro has been a resident of Savannah, Georgia since 2003. He currently serves as a Spanish Bible Study Minister at Savannah Baptist Temple, where he is dedicated to teaching and discipling through the Word of God.

For the past 18 years, he has owned and operated Ortiz Custom Guns as a professional gunsmith, combining precision craftsmanship with integrity and dedication to his clients.

He previously served the Savannah community as a Peer Specialist Addiction Counselor at Recovery Place (2004–2006), offering support and guidance to individuals overcoming addiction. From 2006 to 2008, he also worked as a certified Spanish-English medical interpreter for Chatham County Health Department and Memorial Hospital, helping bridge communication between healthcare providers and Spanish-speaking patients.

Over the last three years, he has developed a deep passion for studying Scripture in its original languages, particularly Biblical Hebrew, seeking to better understand and teach the richness and depth of God’s Word.

Eva White

Children’s Bible Study Leader

Eva White serves as our Children’s Bible Study Director, leading small group Bible studies with a heart for nurturing young lives in God’s Word. She is a graduate of Trinity Bible College in Jacksonville, Florida, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education. In addition to her dedication to ministry, Eva is a retired Master Sergeant from the Air National Guard.

For over forty years, she has faithfully invested in the hearts and lives of children at Savannah Baptist Temple, passionately teaching them the truths of Scripture. Her greatest desire is for every child to experience the love of Christ through a personal relationship with Him.

Yane and Misti Gonzalez

Hispanic Ministry Leaders

Yane and Misti lead our Hispanic Ministry, dedicating their lives each week to the Hispanic community in the Savannah area. Every Saturday, they engage this vibrant community through Bible teachings, children’s activities, fellowship, and language training. Yane arrived in America from Cuba at the age of fifteen, and together with Misti, they are driven by a deep passion to create lasting change through this vital ministry.

Suman Rao

Outreach and Missions Leader

Suman Rao accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in mid-2024. Soon after, she stepped out in faith to share the gospel, spending six months serving in Colombia and ministering in various cities across the United States.

In July 2025, she stepped into the role of Outreach and Missions Leader. Rao has a deep heart for serving others and believes outreach is faith put into action—meeting people where they are and sharing the love of Christ in practical ways. She enjoys traveling the world, hiking and meeting new people
